Our Naturopath's Overnight Oats Recipe

Our Naturopath has shared her favourite overnight oats recipe.

Oats nourish and tone the activity of the nervous system, making them a great food choice to start your day! Making your oats the night before means you can have extra time in the morning for exercise, meditation, and getting outside.

This recipe provides:

Omega-3 fatty acids: improves mood, reduces inflammation

Antioxidants: reducing oxidative damage on a cellular level to improve gut and brain function, as well as keeping your hair and skin healthy!

B vitamins: essential for healthy metabolism, enabling the body to harness energy from the food on your plate.

Magnesium: supporting healthy brain function, and improving your stress-response throughout the day.

Ingredients

1/2 cup rolled oats

1.2 cup Bonsoy (or unsweetened nut milk of choice)

1/2 cup water

1 tbsp flax meal (preferably from freshly grounded seeds)

1/2 tsp grounded cinnamon

1 tsp pumpkin seeds

4 chopped almonds

1 tsp hemp seeds

10 blueberries / organic fresh or frozen mixed berries

Method

Put water, oats, milk of choice, flax meal and cinnamon into glass jar or container. If you are using frozen berries add them to the mix here. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.

The next morning sprinkle pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, chopped almonds and fresh berries on oats.

Enjoy!
